How To Become a Cadet

We’re grateful you’re considering becoming part of the Marmion Academy family. Follow the steps below to start your journey towards becoming a Cadet.

  • Register for the Entrance Exam on one of the below dates (Incoming freshmen only)
  • Complete the online application ($50 Fee)
    • Submit student’s most recent report card, standardized test scores (uploaded with the online application) and letter of recommendation.
    • Incoming Freshman should apply by December 15, 2025 to qualify for scholarships and the one-time tuition grant.
  • Schedule a Shadow Day (optional) to experience a day in the life of a Marmion Cadet.

Transfer applicants may need to interview with the Director of Admissions prior to acceptance and should apply by January 15, 2026 to receive the one-time $1,000 Tuition Grant.

Please Note:

  • Scholarship recipients will be notified of the award and acceptance by the end of December.
  • If your application is complete and all supporting documents have been received by Marmion Admissions by December 15 you can expect a decision by mid-January.
  • If your files are incomplete as of December 15, you’ll still be considered an active applicant, but you will also be admitted on a space-available basis.

Entrance Exam

Marmion Academy administers the HSPT (High School Placement Test) scholarship qualifying exam in December each year. The exam is one criterion for acceptance and honors placement.

Applicants should register for the exam through their admissions account.

Ways to Experience Marmion

Tours
Campus tours are available by appointment year-round. Please contact Bill Dickson at (630) 897-6936 (ext. 227) or bdickson@marmion.org to schedule a visit.

Shadow Visit
We invite 8th graders interested in Marmion to spend a half day on campus shadowing a current student. You will attend classes, enjoy lunch (on us) in our dining hall, and get a firsthand look at what life is like at Marmion. Shadow visits are available from October through April.

Applicants can sign up for a shadow day through their admissions account. You do not need to complete the application to schedule a shadow day.

Explore Day

Spring 2026
In the spring of your 7th grade school year, you can come experience Marmion through our Explore Day, an event designed to offer a dynamic glimpse into high school life.

Over the course of this two-hour visit, you’ll get to take part in sessions highlighting spirituality, academics, athletic offerings and leadership building.

You’ll also have some hands-on learning opportunities, including:

  • A digital design demonstration in our Computer Center
  • Student-led presentations on real-world engineering projects in the CPARC and Engineering Center
  • An anatomy dissection experience in the Biology Lab
