Marmion is a Catholic, Benedictine, college-preparatory high school dedicated to forming young men and women in faith, scholarship, and leadership/service. Rooted in the Rule of St. Benedict, our mission is to cultivate a Christ-centered community where all students grow in moral character, academic excellence, and spiritual depth.

Position Overview

The Dean of Women plays a key leadership role in shaping and supporting the experience of students at Marmion Academy. As a member of the administrative team, the Dean of Women fosters a culture that promotes academic achievement, personal development, discipline, and faith formation in accordance with Catholic and Benedictine values.

This person serves as a strong advocate for all students at Marmion Academy, with a primary focus on support for female students as Marmion transitions to a co-ed school in 2026 to ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive school environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities

Student Life & Formation

  • Promote the spiritual, emotional, academic, and social development of the students.
  • Serve as a mentor, role model, and pastoral presence for the Marmion community.
  • Support and help implement faith formation programs, retreats, service opportunities, and leadership development.
  • Coordinate programs and initiatives that empower both young women and men rooted in Catholic teaching and Benedictine spirituality.

Discipline, Attendance, & Student Conduct

  • Enforce and support the school’s code of conduct, with a focus on restorative practices.
  • Handle student behavioral issues, partnering with parents, counselors, and faculty as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records related to student behavior and disciplinary actions.
  • Uphold a consistent, compassionate, and faith-based approach to discipline that respects student dignity.
  • Establishes and maintains high standards of conduct.
  • Investigates student complaints and grievances and utilizes restorative justice practices to resolve conflict.
  • Interviews students and witnesses in disciplinary investigations.
  • Investigates, adjudicates, and monitors infractions of the school code.
  • Investigate attendance issues.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with other deans of students, counselors, campus ministry, administration, attendance officer, and faculty and staff to ensure the well-being of all students.
  • Participate in administrative decision-making and school leadership planning.
  • Serve as a liaison to parents/guardians, addressing concerns and fostering strong relationships.

Additional Duties

  • Represent the needs and perspectives of the student body, with a primary focus on the female students, to the broader school community.
  • Supervise or support student activities, clubs, and extracurricular events focused on female student involvement.
  • Take part in professional development related to adolescent formation, Catholic education, and school leadership.
  • Works cooperatively with the Director of Student Affairs, the School Principal, local law enforcement agencies, and the School Resource Office on security matters.

Qualifications

Required

  • Practicing Catholic or Christian committed to the mission of Catholic and Benedictine education.
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, theology, administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with adolescents in a school, ministry, or counseling setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially with teenage girls and their families.
  • Ability to model and uphold Catholic values in personal and professional life.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in educational leadership, school counseling, or related field.
  • Prior experience in a Catholic school setting.
  • Familiarity with Benedictine spirituality and traditions.
  • Experience in student discipline and student affairs.
  • Experience as an Instructor in the classroom.

Working Conditions

  • Full-time, 12-month position
  • Occasional evenings/weekends for school events, extracurricular events, student activities, or parent meetings.

Science/Physics Instructor (Part-Time)

Marmion Academy, a competitive Catholic college-preparatory academy, seeks an experienced instructor for a part-time opening in Science/Physics for the 2025-2026 Academic Year. The ideal candidate will possess a valid Illinois Professional Educator License with secondary endorsements in: Science (9-12); Marmion’s salary and benefits program will be competitive and commensurate with a candidate’s educational preparation and experience.

For the 2025-2026 school year, we will continue in our current model of being an all-male Catholic school, but in the fall of 2026-2027, we will be welcoming female students to our campus as we transition to a co-educational model. For this reason, many coaching and extracurricular opportunities are available.

Marmion Academy, founded in 1933, is owned and operated by the Benedictine Monks of Marmion Abbey and is situated on a 325-acre campus in Aurora, Illinois, 35 miles west of Chicago. Maintenance Staff (Full-Time)

Job Description: This position is responsible for daily cleaning of the school, preparation for campus events, and basic building maintenance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Daily cleaning of classrooms, restrooms, cafeteria, etc.
  • Emptying trash and recycling
  • Setting up for events, e.g. assemblies, school dances, commencement, etc.
  • Basic plumbing repair, e.g. toilet flush valves
  • Basic electrical repair, e.g. changing ballast on light fixtures
  • Basic HVAC repair, e.g. changing filters
  • Painting of walls and ceilings
  • Operation and maintenance of commercial vacuums, floor scrubbers, etc.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods
  • Ability to lift and move over 50 pounds
  • Time-management and multitasking abilities
  • Organization skills
  • Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Experience in the the trades is welcome

Spanish/ French Instructor (Part-Time)

Bus Drivers (Part-Time)

Marmion Academy is seeking:

  • Two part-time CDL and non-CDL bus drivers (afternoons, evenings and some weekends). Duties include driving for sporting events, with Monday through Friday availability from 2:15 PM into the evening.
  • One part-time driver for daily before and after school routes. CDL not necessary.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Safely transport passengers to Marmion related events
  • Keep in accordance with all Federal, State, Board of Education and Illinois D.O.T. rules and regulations
  • Takes directions well
  • On time or early mentality
  • Quickly and accurately complete pre-trip inspections
  • Maintain or communicate to authority figure to maintain discipline at all times
  • Communicate any problems efficiently, effectively, and in a timely manor
  • Attend job specific transportation meetings
  • Knows emergency procedures for bus evacuations for any type of situation
  • Completes end of the year review
  • Presents a clean bus for the trip
  • Leaves a clean bus for the next trip (this includes but is not limited to sweeping, dusting, emptying garbage and window cleaning)
  • If other problems present themselves the driver is expected to clean up and report to transportation department
  • Empties garbage can after every trip (and if necessary during the trip)
  • Driver will find routes to destinations, except when asked to take a different route by the coach
  • Must read, understand and follow street signs, and/or maps
  • Be readily available to team or group when needed. This is could include early morning trips, evening trips and flexibility with weather related issues
  • Submit in writing (physical or e-mail) request off dates two weeks before hand. Emergency situations will be considered.
  • Report any accident or traffic violation immediately following violation as long as it is safe environment
  • Understand “On Call” duties
  • Know that in-season sports get first priority over out-of-season field trips
  • Other duties assigned by Transportation Director

Skills and Requirements:

  • Good verbal communication
  • Ability to work without direct supervision
  • CDL with Bus Operator endorsement*
  • 21 or older
  • Pass a background check
  • Submit to a good driver check
  • Pass the yearly physical
  • Complete Protecting God’s Children course and turn in certificate

*For Yellow Bus driver’s only.
